Northeast Frontier Railway has issued applications for Act Apprentices in different divisions and workshops. The eligible candidates seek to fill 5,647 positions. Applications shall be done only through online mode. The procedure is active till December 3, 2024. This recruitment platform aptly caters for candidates possessing qualifications like 10th Class, 12th Pass, or ITI (NTC/STC). Apprentices so appointed shall be paid a monthly stipend at rates prescribed, but shall make their own arrangements regarding lodging for the period of training.

Qualification required for an Act Apprentice at Northeast Frontier Railway is completion of at least 10th class or 12th pass or holding of ITI certificate with NTC/STC. Apprentices selected would undergo apprenticeship training after which they would be released. They would receive stipend as prescribed rates of stipends but arrange their accommodation themselves during period of apprenticeship.
Unit-wise, Trade-wise, and Community-wise merit basis. The merit list for every unit would be worked out on percentage marks in Matriculation with aggregate marks of not less than 50% along with ITI marks of the trade in which he/she is to do Apprenticeship. The final panel will be on the average of the Matriculation and ITI marks.
For Laboratory Technician (Pathology) and Laboratory Technician (Radiology), the merit list shall be prepared on the basis of percentage of marks at Matriculation with at least 50% aggregate marks + 12th Science with Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
All subjects of Matriculation or Higher Secondary wherever applicable would be considered for computation. It should not be made based on some selective groups of subject like 'best of five' etc.
The marks taken for the purposes shall be either consolidated statement of marks for all semesters rendered by ITI or marks as communicated by NCVT/SCVT in its provisional National Trade Certificate. There shall be disqualification if there is a false declaration of marks.
In the event that two or more candidates secure the same marks, the older candidate is preferred. In the event of the same date of birth, a candidate who passes earlier would be preferred over the candidate who passes after.
Unit-wise merit list, trade-wise merit list, and community-wise merit list shall be prepared in decreasing order of percentage of marks obtained. The number of candidates called for document verification shall be 1.5 times the notified vacancies.
Candidates finally enlisted will undergo verification of original testimonials and the production of a medical certificate as per the attached annexure.
