Mode of Selection

I. Technical Assistant [Erstwhile Group III(1) & III(2)]

  1. Screening of Application: Scrutiny by a Screening Committee.
  2. Stage I (Trade Test): Qualifying in nature.
  3. Stage II (Competitive Written Examination):
    • Scheme of Examination: OMR Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination.
    • Medium of Questions: Both English and Hindi.
    • Standard of exam: Diploma/Graduation level.
    • Total No. of Questions: 200
    • Total Time Allotted: 3 hours
    • Paper-I (Mental Ability Test): 50 questions, 100 marks, no negative marks.
    • Paper-II (General Awareness & English Language): 50 questions each, 75 marks each, negative marking.
    • Paper-III (Concerned Subject): 100 questions, 300 marks, negative marking.
  4. Evaluation and Final merit list: Papers II and III evaluated for those meeting minimum marks in Paper I.
  5. Centre of Tests: Bengaluru.

II. Technician-1 [Erstwhile Group II(1)]

  1. Screening of Application: Scrutiny by a Screening Committee.
  2. Stage I (Trade Test): Qualifying in nature.
  3. Stage II (Competitive Written Examination):
    • Scheme of Examination: OMR Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination.
    • Medium of Questions: Both English and Hindi.
    • Standard of exam: SSC + ITI / XII Standard.
    • Total No. of Questions: 150
    • Total Time Allotted: 2 hours 30 minutes
    • Paper-I (Mental Ability Test): 50 questions, 100 marks, no negative marks.
    • Paper-II (General Awareness & English Language): 50 questions each, 75 marks each, negative marking.
    • Paper-III (Concerned Subject): 50 questions, 150 marks, negative marking.
  4. Evaluation and Final merit list: Papers II and III evaluated for those meeting minimum marks in Paper I.
  5. Centre of Tests: Bengaluru.

III. Driver

  1. Screening of Application: Scrutiny by a Screening Committee.
  2. Stage I (Trade Test): Qualifying in nature.
  3. Stage II (Competitive Written Examination):
    • Scheme of Examination: OMR Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination.
    • Medium of Questions: Both English and Hindi.
    • Standard of exam: SSLC.
    • Total No. of Questions: 100
    • Total Time Allotted: 1 hour 30 minutes
    • Paper-I (General Intelligence & Quantitative Aptitude): 25 questions each, 75 marks each, negative marking.
    • Paper-II (General Awareness & English Language): 25 questions each, 75 marks each, negative marking.
  4. Evaluation and Final merit list: Paper I evaluated for those meeting minimum marks in the trade test.
  5. Centre of Tests: Bengaluru.

How to Apply?

  1. Application Process:
    1. Eligible candidates must apply online at www.csir4pi.in.
    2. Create a valid email ID if not already available.
    3. Online application window: 30.01.2024 (09:30 AM) to 29.02.2024 (05:30 PM).
    4. Submit applications well in advance to avoid last-minute technical issues.
  2. Application Fee:
    1. Non-refundable fee of Rs.500/- for each application (except SC/ST/PwBD, Women, CSIR Employees, and Abroad Candidates).
    2. Submit separate applications for each post if applying for more than one.
  3. Successful Submission:
    1. After submission, note the generated "APPLICATION NUMBER."
    2. Keep a soft/hard copy of the application for reference.
  4. Eligibility Check:
    1. Check eligibility for all post codes before applying.
    2. Select all eligible post codes at once to avoid technical difficulties later.
  5. Hardcopy Submission:
    1. Send hardcopy of the application with relevant documents to the address mentioned by Registered post.
    2. Must reach the office by 15.03.2024 (05:00 PM).
  6. Important Notes:
    1. Applications received after the closing date will not be entertained.
    2. Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.

Candidates should ensure that the Following documents must be attached along with application form:

  1. Required Documents to be Attached:
    1. Acknowledgement of remitted application fee, if applicable.
    2. Date of Birth certificate: SSLC/Matriculation/10th class certificate or marksheet with the candidate's date of birth (refer to clause 2.k).
    3. Identity card issued by Government Authorities: Aadhar card/Voter ID card/Pan card/Passport.
    4. All certificates for educational qualifications (from 10th/SSLC onwards).
    5. Experience certificates/List of publications/research papers with attested copies/reprints, if any.
    6. Valid caste/category certificate (for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/Women seeking relaxation/Ex-Serviceman candidates) in the prescribed proforma.
    7. Medical certificate (for Persons with Benchmark Disability candidates) from the prescribed authority in the applicable format for Government of India services.
    8. Colored photograph (to be pasted and signed across on the hardcopy).
    9. Any other applicable certificate, if required.
