  • At least 04 years' experience at Associate Professor level with AGP of Rs 9500/- (Level 13A2) and/or at least seven years as Associate Professor with AGP of Rs 9000/- (Level 13A1) in an Institution of repute.
  • Two Ph.D. degrees guided as sole or Principal supervisor.
  • The following during the past 04 years:
    • 03 papers in SCI journals
    • One high-value sponsored or consultancy project
    • Academic outreach activity equivalent to two self-financed courses offered as coordinator and main teacher
    • Two experiments or computational design projects added to teaching laboratories, wherever appropriate
  • One or more patents
  • Supervised more than three students for Ph.D.
  • Prepared E-learning material
  • At least one self-financed short-term course offered every year
  • Strong liaison with industry
  • Offering significant support to Institute management
  • High-value sponsored or consultancy projects

Qualification for the Post of Professor - IIIT Allahabad

Candidates applying for the position of Professor at IIIT Allahabad must possess a Ph.D. degree from recognized institutions or universities in India or abroad. The Institute is looking for individuals with strong academic credentials, a proven track record of high-quality research, and leadership in innovative teaching. The selected candidates will contribute to the disciplines and departments of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Applied Sciences, and Management Studies, under the 4-Tier-Flexible Faculty Structure.

Note: Candidates may refer to the ‘Govt. of India-MHRD’s F. No. 27-11/2011 Ts.1 dated 23rd April 2014’ on ‘Implementation of 4-tier flexible faculty structure in the Indian Institutes of Information Technology’, and the ‘CEI Act-2019’, for further information.

In case the candidate has passed and secured CGPA under any point scale other than the 10-point scale, a certificate issued by the authorized signatory (not the Mentor/Supervisor/Head of the Department) of the Institute/University confirming first class in such degree must be attached. Alternately, CGPA may be equivalently converted on a 10-point scale for determination of eligibility.

Selection Procedure for IIIT Allahabad Professor Recruitment 2024

  1. Screening and Short-Listing: Applications and profiles will be reviewed by a Screening Committee based on the Institute’s criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an in-person presentation and interview before the Statutory Selection Committee. Final appointment letters will be issued based on the committee’s recommendations and the approval of the Board of Governors.

  3. Restriction of Candidates: The Institute may limit the number of candidates for interviews based on qualifications, eligibility, experience, and academic achievements exceeding the minimum requirements specified in the advertisement.
  4. Additional Criteria: The Institute may implement additional criteria or procedural steps to further restrict the number of candidates invited for interviews.
  5. Specialization and Department Needs: Areas of specialization will be considered during shortlisting, based on departmental needs. Shortlisting norms may vary across departments and are binding on applicants. The Institute's decisions regarding recruitment are final.
  6. Final Decisions: Decisions made by the respective committees will be final.
  7. Specialization Preference: Candidates whose specialization aligns closely with departmental needs may be given preference in the selection process.
