The DHS, Andaman & Nicobar Administration released a recruitment notification for 39 specialist posts. Interested applicants with suitable eligibility criteria are invited to apply online. The online application process will be closed on 22nd November 2024. Online interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held between 4th and 6th December 2024. It pays competitive salaries too and is a bonus since selected candidates can be deployed into multiple districts covering South Andaman, North & Middle Andaman, and even Nicobar District. All interested applicants should apply with requirements qualified under the standards set under MCI norms.

The qualifications of applicants must be as per the prevailing norms of Medical Council of India. All candidates appointed in these positions must hold a requisite medical qualification in their respective specialties, and the candidates should not exceed 65 years of age. Specialists will be posted in various districts of Andaman & Nicobar with different pay scales. The specialists will be provided with a competitive salary of at least Rs. 2.5 lakh per month based on the area where they are posted.
The appointment is purely on a contract basis for a period of one year or until the regular incumbent joins, whichever is earlier, starting from the date of joining. The contract will lapse automatically after this period. The appointment can also be terminated at any time by either party with one month's notice or payment of one month's salary, without assigning any reason or if the appointee fails to complete three months to the satisfaction of the competent authority.
The appointee shall perform duties assigned by the competent authority, who reserves the right to assign any other duties as required. No extra or additional allowances will be given for such assignments.
The appointee is not entitled to any benefits such as Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance Treatment, Seniority, Promotion, or any other benefits available to regular government servants.
Non-practicing allowance will not be provided.
The appointee will not have any claim or right for regular appointment to any post under the Central Health Service.
Only a consolidated salary will be provided. No Dearness Allowance or other allowances applicable to Central Government servants will be given.
The appointee shall be on a whole-time appointment at the Medical Institution and shall not accept any other paid or unpaid appointment. Private practice is also not allowed during the contract period.
The appointment to the post is subject to medical fitness, verified by a competent Medical Board. The appointee will be sent to the designated Medical Authority by the concerned Institute/Hospital before joining.
The appointee is not entitled to any TA for joining the appointment.
Other conditions of service will be governed by the relevant rules and orders issued from time to time.
The appointee may be required to work in any part of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
If any declaration or information provided by the appointee is found to be false or if any material information is wilfully suppressed, the appointee will be liable for removal from service and other actions deemed necessary by the Government.
