Recruitment of 81 Assistant Soil Conservation Officers - Odisha Soil Conservation Services

Online applications are invited from prospective candidates through the Commission's website (http://opsc.gov.in). Registration and submission link will be available from 16.07.2024 to 16.08.2024 for 81 Assistant Soil Conservation Officer posts in Class-II (Group-B) of Odisha Soil Conservation Services under the Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Empowerment. The pay is at Level-10 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017, with a pre-revised scale of PB-2 Rs. 9300/- - 34800/- and Grade Pay of Rs. 4600/- plus usual Dearness and other Allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha. The posts are temporary but likely to be made permanent.

Method of Selection
  1. Selection Process
    • Selection based on marks obtained in the Competitive Recruitment Examination (Written Test - MCQ Pattern & Interview).
  2. Written Test
    • Two papers: Paper I & Paper II, each carrying 100 marks, totaling 200 marks.
    • MCQ pattern with 100 questions per paper, each carrying one mark.
    • Duration: 1.5 hours for each paper.
    • Candidates may choose one subject for the test: Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Forestry, or Horticulture.
  3. Interview/Viva-Voce Test
    • Candidates shortlisted based on written test marks.
    • Interview selection ratio:
      • Up to 2 vacancies: 5 candidates called for Interview.
      • More than 2 vacancies: Twice the number of vacancies.
    • Total marks for Interview/Viva-Voce Test: 25
